Sunday Thoughts

Apparently it was quite the week to capture sunrise photos, but this evening I caught the last rays of the sun disappearing behind the church property. The morning sun comes later these days and the evening sun sets earlier. This past week was the first day of autumn. We have finally seen a change in temperatures and the humidity has disappeared.

This past week I was able to run and walk on a regular basis. I ran three miles on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On each of these days I also walked a mile. On Tuesday, Thursday and today, I walked four miles. Things are feeling really good and even the back is starting to feel better. This week, I’m going to add a mile to running on three days and may even try a back to back Friday and Saturday.

It’s been a good week over all. This past week, we had our last farmer’s market session for the season. It was bittersweet to pack things up after the market. I did something different on Saturday during the farmer’s market. I brought a few pieces of sound equipment and my guitar and sang some songs. It was a fun way to spend the morning.

The next few weeks have us getting ready for several events. Singer/songwriter Katy Kinard will be hear on October 10 for our worship service. The night before, we are having a ShrimpFest at one of the church member’s homes. It should be a great night of fellowship. We are also hosting a service for pregnancy and infant loss on October 15. It’s been said that 1 in 4 women have lost a pregnancy or infant. Later in the month we have some missionaries coming in and that same weekend we are hosting our annual Trunk or Treat event. So October is definitely going to be a busy month.

We had a wonderful Spirit-filled and Spirit-led service this morning. The worship team did a great job leading the musical worship. We had an anointing service and even an impromptu special. I could feel the Holy Spirit working this morning. It’s taken me most of the afternoon to recover and Anna and I are about to watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

That about wraps it up. Have a great week and Seize the Day!
