Sunday Night Thoughts

It’s been an interesting week weather-wise. On Monday I went out for a run – thinking that the rain was done, but about 4 miles in, the heavens opened up and I got drenched. It’s been a long time since I ran in rain like that. It reminded me of the time I ran in the Richmond Marathon, but this was much harder. I was able to get in 6 miles – 5 miles on Tuesday that felt like July in Virginia and then a nice chilly 6 mile run yesterday. We went from hot and humid to our first frost in less than five days.

The leaves are starting to turn and I ner ed to get out and cut the grass just one more time. The weather does finally look like we are going to move into the next stage of fall. Yesterday we took some time to go to Elk County. We have a large herd of elk. On our way into Benezette, we saw a large elk bull. It was so magnificent. After visiting the visitor’s center we saw a mom elk and her baby. It was very cool. We went out to the Winslow Hill Viewing Center and were able to see some way out in the distance, but we forgot to take our binoculars. By that time is was getting windy and cold.

It’s been a good but busy week. We had another good night of Kid’s Klub which was preceded by a wonderful prayer meeting. I so love meeting with our prayer warriors. The kids keep us busy the next hour. I taught the story of Peter walking on the water to Jesus. Peter had to take a leap of faith and step out on the water. Jesus wants all of us to step out on faith. He wants us all in the game and not sitting on the sidelines.

It is time to relax for the rest of the night. Have a great week.
