It has been an amazing week. It was good to have our son, James, home for the week. This afternoon we took him back to college and on the way home we had to take a detour through Olean. This week our oldest and her husband and kids are coming for a visit. We are really looking forward to seeing them.
This past week was as close to a normal week that Pam and I have had in a long time. I was able to get in 20 miles in running – all indoors either on the track or the treadmill. I was able to run most of my bus runs.
One of the highlights of the week was our Ash Wednesday service. We had about 10 from our congregation, 10 from another local congregation, and several from another local congregation. We remembered that we are dust and to dust we will return. We were reminded that we must repent from our sins and be faithful to the Gospel. You could tell that the people were moved by the service.
On Saturday, we were part of the Kidzstuff Conference at Watermark Wesleyan in Hamburg. Pam, Anna, and I helped put lunch together. I felt I was on one of those cooking shows. I kept asking, how much time do we have? It was a great time and the attendees were very appreciative of what we did.
Last night as most of you know, we lost an hour of sleep, so I ended up a little groggy this morning. That being said, the Holy Spirit descended on our worship center this morning. I am thankful for an amazing morning of worship. Following worship we headed to lunch and then we headed to choir rehearsal. We had a great rehearsal and then headed to Houghton.
At this point, I am tired. I am waiting for this morning’s video to render and then I will upload it to YouTube.
So that about wraps it up. We are looking forward to our community Lenten Lunch this week. I will be presenting the devotional and leading worship with my son-in-law. Have a great week!
