Sunday Night Thoughts

It’s been a rainy day here in the Brook.  The remnants of Harvey made it here.  It’s really not that bad and we do really need the rain. We’ve had quite a dry stretch.  It was a good day to take a nap and that’s exactly what I did.

We are getting back in to the school groove.  Anna starts this Tuesday. Pam got all her clearances and started on my van Friday. She will be riding on my noon runs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  On Thursday, our bus company had a dinner for the drivers and their spouses.  We had Beef on Weck.  It was delicious.

I’m trying to get back in the groove of preparing early in the week, so that I’m not pressed for time at the end of the week.  It was ok this week, but I still need to get better at it.

Friday night we had a wonderful evening of worship at Emmaus Road. This is Friday night worship service with First Wesleyan in Bradford.  I led the musical worship, as usual, but also offered communion, and Pam preached.  We only had the faithful few, but it was good anyway.

Like I said, we woke up to rain this morning, but it really didn’t dampen our worship service.  It was the first morning we had to turn on the heat at church.  I finished up the our series on the Fruit of the Spirit.  In case you are interested, here is the link to the entire series.

Next week is our big Back-to-Church celebration.  We are hoping to fill all the seats in our sanctuary.  That will be a challenge, but I think our congregation is up to it.  That’s about all I have for tonight, but let me leave you with pictures from McCrae Brook’s August mission project.  We gathered supplies for our local school districts.
