Today is July 16th and that’s a bit of a huge deal. On Facebook I already posted that a year ago was my last day at Chick-fil-A of Waynesboro. It was an incredibly emotional farewell, as would be the farewell the next evening as we said goodbye to friends at both Parkway Wesleyan Church and Waynesboro Wesleyan Church. Even my Chick-fil-A friends joined us for a farewell service.
We knew that God was in the plan but sometimes trusting the plan when you can’t see it is quite another task. Just this morning during worship – during our praise time – several mentioned how excited they were that God was on the move in our neck of the woods. I really believe that. Speaking of worship – God was present as we met together this morning. This morning I spoke on Patience: It’s part of a series that we are doing on the Fruit of the Spirit.
The video is my sermon. I encourage you to watch it or at least listen to it – it is powerful stuff and not because I say so, but because it was a message from God. I was only the carrier. I think that is the theme of this year – basking in God’s favor – working out my salvation with fear and trembling. Praying to God for his power in my and Pam’s life.
On Thursday of this past week, we went to the Eldred World War II Museum. This is an amazing museum that is located right here. It’s $5 a person to get in, but worth every penny. We all learned something new about this war. By the way tonight at 8:00 a PCN Television Special (a Pennsylvania Cable Network) will be airing it. Here’s the link to the information. I wish we could get it on our local cable network.
We have been trying to do something special each week. I’m not exactly sure what we will be doing this week yet.
Some of you may wonder how running is going and I’m finally getting back to my old self. A little bit slower, but getting some serious mileage in of late. Last week, I walked or ran 38 miles.
I think that’s about all I have for this week. Blessings….
