Happy 150th Birthday

Today is Canada Day.  It is a special Canada Day in that is the 150th birthday of our friendly neighbors to the north.  Our family started celebrating Canada Day several years ago, when our daughter married a young man from Canada.

Funny story…Robert, our grandson from Canada will be here to celebrate with us today, so we have a little more reason to celebrate it.  However, he will be home for July 4th, so he will have to celebrate that in Canada.  We bought red and white cupcakes for the occasion and will be going out for some fried dough later.  Canadians have this thing called Beaver Tails.  It is fried dough with all kinds of various toppings.  I love getting them when in Ottawa.  I just thought about it, maybe we should have Poutine tonight.  That would be another great way to celebrate Canada Day.

Happy 150th Canada!
