Here we are and I can still call this one (officially) Sunday Night Thoughts. As I write this, I have about an hour left of Sunday. It has been a fantastic Sunday, which has followed a great week even though we have seen our fair share of rain/drizzle. At least two of my runs started or ended in rain. We have had rain on and off all day today.
This morning Pam took the preaching duties and preached the final message in a series that we have been doing The Church: Why Do We Exist? It has been a great starting off series as we looked at five things the church must do to exist: worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry service. Pam did a great job, especially considering it has been over a year since she last preached. Ministry service is right down Pam’s alley. We finished off this series celebrating communion – it even worked out that it was World Communion Sunday. It was a wonderful Holy Spirit inspired service and I am so thankful that He is working in our lives.
Following worship, we headed off to Buffalo, or should I say, “shuffled off to Buffalo?” to attend our district ordination service. It was good to catch up to our ministry colleagues, most of them are new to us. It was good to fellowship with our co-laborers in the gospel both before and after the service. I have another post here about the service. It was good and I enjoyed hearing the pipe organ in the chapel at The Wesleyan Church of Hamburg. I love singing hymns that way. That’s why this post is so late.
We also stopped at Wegman’s to get supper. It’s always a fun place to get something to eat.
It has just been a good week – not much else to share, but we have two meetings this week…one with our missions committee and the other with the Otto-Eldred Ministerium. Looking forward to both. Have a great week!
