Sunday Night Thoughts

Sunday Night Thoughts

  • Tonight marks 49 days till our first Sunday in Eldred, PA.  We have been preparing and packing our house for the move.  The reality is really beginning to sink in.
  • Tomorrow kicks off The Wesleyan Church’s General Conference.  I think it was a God thing.  Tonight’s message was the only service that I’ll be able to watch because of work.  Jim Dunn’s message was timely as we pray for our new ministry opportunity in Eldred.  People need the transforming hope of Jesus in their lives.
  • So thankful for good friends who took us out to dinner – it was good to catch up with Donna and Allen.  Also thankful for our good friend Kelly who rescued some stuff from FedEx at the church. They left it outside – when it was going to rain – without and plastic covering.
  • This evening, I started preparing for an event at Chick-fil-A this Thursday.  We are having a Beach Block Party to kick-off the summer season.  Me and a young man from our store are working on some beach and summer songs for the event.  It’s going to be a fun evening to jam.
  • Saturday I worked the Milmont Rose Festival for Chick-fil-A and had the best homemade strawberry ice cream.  Milmont Nurseries are owned by a Mennonite family and have a great local business.
  • This week we received the official news that our credentials are being transferred to our new district – one more thing to check off the list.
  • Please be praying for our good friends Craig and Vilene.  Her dad died last night after a bout with some illness.  That still doesn’t make it easy.
  • We had a good time of spirit-led worship this morning.
  • Looking forward to getting back in the running mode tomorrow – only my second workout of the new month – how does that happen?
  • That’s about it for this week – later!
