Sunday Night Thoughts

Sunday Night Thoughts

It’s Sunday night, the first Sunday night of March 2016 and this week spring arrives in full force.  Tomorrow morning’s low will be 30 and there’s not another subfreezing low in the 10 day forecast.  In fact, the forecast calls for a high in the mid-70’s by midweek.  I really hope the cold is gone for good.  I’ve been seeing pictures on Facebook from a few years ago that had some of the trees flowering during this week.  Back when I was leading worship for FLAME, we had some mild first weeks of March even in Indiana.  I even remember doing some running – and it was rather warm in the afternoon.

It’s been a very busy week here in the Shenandoah Valley.  I picked up a few extra hours on Wednesday morning, so I’ve spent quite a bit of time at work this week.  In other news, I did get in two runs this week, with a hope to get in three runs this week along with a few walks.  I want to be somewhere near 100 miles by the end of the month.  I have a lot of miles to catch up on.

I always love when the Holy Spirit “shows up” at church.  This morning was one of those mornings.  We had a few more in church than normal and the singing was great. It is always pleasing to serve the Lord like that and it is great when the congregation is responsive.

Pam and I are so thankful for your prayers as we continue to seek the Lord’s direction.  We did have a Skype interview this week – that was amazing in and of itself.  We had a call with the DS of the district (he was in one location), the board (in a separate location) and us.  I was amazed how well the technology worked.  It’s a long way from that first conference call that we had many years ago with the board as we considered going to the Fort Miller Wesleyan Church.  It was great to see the people.  We would appreciate your continued prayers as we continue this process.

That’s about all I have for the night – we have another big week at work – it seems it has been getting busier of late.  Time to call it a night and get ready for bed.  Blessings…
