Most of us have heard of Christmas in July, but this year I think the weather is a little mixed up. Thanks to a strong El Nino, we have enjoyed quite a warm December – that followed a warmer than normal November. I’m not complaining at all. In fact I am enjoying the warmer weather because it is keeping the heating bill down.
This weekend, I had a long weekend off because of Christmas. Following work on Thursday, our family headed up to Pennsylvania to spend some time with my mom and dad. We had a great time. The time went way too fast because we had to return so that I could preach this morning.
I had the privilege of preaching at Waynesboro Wesleyan this morning. I was without Pam because she is battling a cold. The message was on Emmanuel: God with Us and the hope that we have because Jesus came in the flesh. I hope to get the sermon uploaded over night and when I do, I will link it back to this page. It has a unique twist in it about the Nativity of Revelation. I’ll bet you didn’t know there was a Nativity story in Revelation.
This evening I returned by myself to preach a message on the importance of the wise men and what we can learn from them.
We have just one more week left of 2015 – needless to say it has been an interesting year. Pam and I will be posting some thoughts on this year throughout the week. Stay tuned for all of that.
I pray that your family has had a good Christmas and we will see you next week!
