Wow! Words to describe today are hard to come by. It was just an incredible day. We spent the day worshiping the coming King – Jesus. First there was an incredible service this morning – the Holy Spirit came in a mighty way as we sang, watched the kids at church sing, pray and open God’s Word. In addition we were blessed with gifts we weren’t expecting – and that happened all day. This evening we had a Christmas Carol Sing. It wasn’t quite like our Lessons and Carols service that we have done in the past, but it was quite a night of musical worship. Pam and I were grateful to the ones who came from Parkway to worship with us. It is one of those days that you just go to sleep fulfilled with God’s grace.
It has been a wild week leading up to Christmas. Like I posted earlier this week, this has been the first time in a long time that I have worked full-time in the customer service industry at Christmas. I forgot how grumpy people get at Christmas 🙂 This week, we did one of our Christmas family traditions. We went to Waffle House on Wednesday night and had a great family night. I will miss our traditional Christmas Eve routine this year. That usually involves a Christmas Eve service, Shepherds Pie, opening presents and junk food. But we will get some of that. Just in a different order.
I really don’t have much more to add. Ready to hit the sack on this short work week. But I will get a chance to preach on Sunday and really looking forward to that. Seize the Day!
