Sunday Night Thoughts | November 1

Sunday Night Thoughts

Today has been a good day – which followed a good week.  It was a bit strange for our family because over the last 5 years we have participated in our church’s Trunk-or-Treat.  James has decorated our van for several years and this was the first year that we weren’t involved at a church.  On a related note, I picked up Anna from work last night and we went to Wal-mart to pick up candy and lo and behold – there was a Christmas tree.  I know I should be used to it by now, but still – just 56 shopping days till Christmas.  I am so glad that, for us, Christmas is so much more than all of that – Christmas is about the Word being made flesh.  This will be a strange season because we are a bit like a man without a country – while we are attending and participating in a local Wesleyan church – and doing some of those activities – it’s just different.  I am really looking forward to our family’s Thanksgiving dinner in a few weeks.

The weather has been great – it has cooled down in just the right increments – we get the occasional cool morning but most of the afternoons warm up quite nicely and usually you don’t need a coat. In fact most of my afternoon runs have been in shorts and t-shirts.  The morning runs have found me bundled up like winter, but I’m still trying to adjust to the cooler temps.  But it has been nice.  We had a great fall foliage season this year.

That’s about all I’ve got for the moment – I need to get to bed so I can get up for a run in the morning and then go to work.  Until next week – Seize the Day!
