I must be tired, because I just got up from my second nap – an evening nap at that. As usual I am waiting to pick up Anna. It’s been a good week with some really interesting twists and turns. Each one of those twists and turns creates emotion and it has been an emotional week. This week Parkway had its annual Vacation Bible School. This year instead of us directing, I was in a purely support role – in the tech booth. We were working out some of the kinks in our new laptop. The laptop has Windows 8 and it has not been playing well with EasyWorship. The good thing is that I think we got most of those worked out because this morning we had our first glitch free morning in several weeks since the new laptop.
It has been emotional as we wind down our ministry at Parkway. By this time next week, we will be in Roanoke and I will have led my last service at the church. We are still seeking God’s direction and there are several good possibilities out there – we just don’t know which door God will open up.
This evening we had some fun. There are several in our church who are on a missions trip to El Salvador, so we invited their families – along with another couple from church over to our house for burritos. It was a fun dinner time. I am really going to miss the families that were here. They mean a great deal to us as well as many other families at church. On one hand we are very excited to see where God is leading us and yet very sad to leave people we have grown to love and count as friends.
Tomorrow morning takes me on a long run and then another full week at Chick-fil-A and I am leading the Bible study on Wednesday night. I hope you have a great week and seize the day!
