Sunday Night Thoughts

Sunday Night ThoughtsYou can tell we are approaching June 21 and the longest day of the year, because it is still very light out at 8:30.  Next week we begin summer officially – unofficially it has been hot.  Those morning workouts have been tough – especially when it is 70 degrees and sunny at 7 in the morning.  Pam and I got in a walk this evening and it was warm then.

It’s been a busy week this past week.  We helped out our friends over at Waynesboro Wesleyan Church with their revival services.  It was a good first half of the week and God’s presence was very evident over the four nights of revival.  I am convinced that we need special services.  It doesn’t matter what we call them – Summit Week, Spiritual Emphasis (like we did in college) Revival – but we need times of regular special renewal in our lives.  I am so thankful to my friends Craig and Vilene Horton.  Craig pastors this little church over in Waynesboro.  It was good to be part of their special emphasis week.

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend – we went swimming in a friend’s pool and just relaxed – which we need right now.  This morning’s service was good – there was a good spirit in worship and it was effortless – which is always a good thing.

Some may wonder what is happening on the search front.  At the moment we are seeking God’s wisdom and direction.  It is trying at times – it is like moving forward in a tunnel and not knowing when you are going to see the light.  We would continue to covet your prayers for wisdom and direction.  That’s about all I have for the night.

Seize the Day!
