Lessons from the Ant Hill: Mission

In my last post I told you a story about the ants that I found in my driveway and how they were on a mission.  The first thing that came to mind was the ants knew what their mission was in life. How many times do we forget what our mission is in life? Last Wednesday I told the children my class our main mission is to see how many people we can take to heaven. I also told them that we can find that mission  in Matthew 28:18-20

(NLT) 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

How easy is that to remember, we are to make disciples and help them grow in Christ. If ants can remember their mission, why can’t we?  The Great Commission is our mission and we must stop at nothing to complete it.
