A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. — Ephesians 6:10-12
This is the word that God gave me for this week. I have never been more prayed up or “worded” up (meaning been in God’s Word) than I have during this past week. This morning Pam and I were up early praying for today’s services. Pam and I have prayed multiple times together for God to do a work today.
Those prayers did not go unanswered. We had a great day in the Lord today. Everything about today was positive. From worship to preaching to the response at the altar. I believe we gave the devil a pretty good black eye today. One of the things I challenged our congregation with was to meet together for prayer. So tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM. The doors will be unlocked and we will pray for our church and our community. Yesterday, we prayed that 5 people would be there that have never been there — while that prayer wasn’t answered exactly, we had five people who hadn’t been to church in a long time.
This afternoon, one of my pastor friends stopped by to check on us. It is great to have a fellowship of pastors like our Southern cluster. Our district is separated into to smaller clusters and we have about 8 churches in our cluster (we used to use the word zones.)
This evening, we sang and then I presented some of Pastor Greg’s State of the Church address from District Conference. Then we started our study on the first beatitude.
It was a great day and I’m thankful for the way God worked today. It was awesome.
