The Call of God
Romans 12:3 — What the will of God is — How can I be sure?
Moses wrestled with the call of God. God tells us four things.
- I have seen…
- I have heard…
- I am concerned…
- I have come down…
Moses was a special man with a special purpose, but he made two mistakes
- Worked out his problems in his own way
- Running away from situations — you can run but you can’t hide
The Burning Bush tells us:
- God can get our attention:
- D. L. Moody — Moses spent 40 years thinking he was somebody, 40 years learning he was nobody, and 40 years discovering what God was everything.
- God may use any means to get our attention
- Quit telling God what you want to do
- Listen to God — He will speak
- God can always get us to rely on Him
- Have you ever heard a bush speak?
- Has God ever called your name?
- C. K. Chesterton — “The world will not perish for lack of wonders, but for lack of wonder.”
- When you say you can’t to God, what you’re really saying is you won’t
- God takes the weak and foolish
- I have no ability but availability
- God can reveal His plan for our lives
- Jeremiah 29:11 — 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Here I am Lord — I’m Available
