What a Beautiful Week
The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous. The temp has hovered right around 80 all week — we’ve had clouds — several small bouts of rain, but not bad for the first week of July.
Not only was it a beautiful week weatherwise, but we have had a long and full and meaningful week. The congregation of Parkway church have welcomed us with open arms and we are grateful for all their help in getting settled.
Last night we went to the Staunton fireworks with several from church and as a service to the community we handed out bottles of water to those who gathered there. It was cool to watch the reactions. Some were very appreciative and thought it was a cool idea. Some didn’t understand why we would hand out bottles of water in the first place — some looked at us like we had three heads — but it was a great way to serve our community.
Settled (for now)
For the time being our family is settled in our temporary housing. Yes, there are some things that need to be done, but for the most part we are home for now — as a result, I will be backing off on the “Transitions” posts until we get ready to move again this fall.
A Great Day of Worship
Today we gathered for the first time with our new church family to worship. It was good. I ended up playing piano, acoustic guitar, and bass this morning. The worship team did a marvelous job in leading worship and we are beginning to gel as a team.
It’s time to sign off, but before I do, let me remind you to Seize the Day!
