Long Week
Those of you who have been following me on Facebook, know that this has been a long week. Over the past three weeks, I have put in over 110 hours at my other job. It has made it hard to keep everything in perspective. In addition, we have had a very rainy December. The ground around here is saturated and soft. It looks like we’ve been four-wheeling along our driveway. Hopefully we’ll get a few dry days in to dry it all out.
This is the Fourth Sunday of Advent. We complete our preparations for Advent this morning. We had a good service and the Holy Spirit was with us. I really felt that someone needed to respond to the message, but no one came. We had a little trouble with talking teens — that’s the first time we have had that happen in a while on Sunday morning.
This afternoon, I took a nap to get caught up from sleep. This evening our children and teens presented their Christmas program. They did a great job and I got to wrap it all up. Did I sense again that someone should have responded? Absolutely! If you read this, I would covet your prayers for those who need to be responding (especially our teens.) This week we have a Christmas Eve service, but we keep that low key. Several years ago, I stumbled across the lessons and carols format for a Christmas Eve service. I love it — so that will be our format for Wednesday night. I have been promoting it at every chance so I hope we have a good crowd.
It’s time to wrap it up for the night. It looks like I have two fairly busy days ahead before we wrap it up for Christmas (interesting pun — it wasn’t intentional.) God bless…
