This week got us back to our “normal” routine.  Last Sunday night Rebecca returned to college and Wednesday James and Anna returned to school.  As I’ve mentioned before, this is the first time in 17 years that we haven’t had a child in elementary school, so that is taking some getting used to.  Anna and James go to school and arrive home within minutes of each other.

This will be our first school year routine week.  Pam and I will be gathering for prayer after sending James and Anna off to school.  We have made this a regular part of our routine.  We a good week this week and we had a good day today.  As I think of back-to-school, remember our student ministry in your prayers.  We have a great group of volunteers assembled to work and teach.  I have a heavy burden for the students of Henry County.

Yesterday, I accepted an invitation to lead worship at our ministers and spouses gathering next month.  I’m looking forward to that.

Parting Thought:

This morning I preached on risk, using the example of Peter.  Peter was willing to get out of the boat and into the storm with Jesus.  We need to remember that we don’t do that in our own strength or our own power, but by God’s Spirit.  So the question is, “Are you ready to get out of the boat and step into the storm with Jesus?”  Seize the Day!
