Tonight we completed over half of our week of Vacation Bible School. Tomorrow is the last regular night and Friday is our closing program. Tonight, was the smoothest running night of the week so far. One of our younger teens did a short monologue on David and Goliath and did a great job.
I have been teaching the senior high class we took a very short look at the life of David — his battle with Goliath and his affair with Bathsheba. I reminded the class that even though David did a terrible thing, that God forgave him. I also reminded them that there are always consequences to our sin as David found out. In the process I also made it clear that a Christ follower cannot keep sinning, there must be a change. One of the students said, “You can’t keep running to the mudhole when you’re clean.” Good thought.
Tonight and for the rest of the week, I am driving the church van, but it’s not too bad. We divide up the students by neighborhood, so nobody has to take them all home. I believe we were in the high teens again for attendance. Looking forward to tomorrow night.
Blessings….
