Today, we continued in the sauna. As I write the temp is 100 degrees. There is a line of thunderstorms to our west and we are under a severe thunderstorm watch. We’ll see what develops. Tomorrow is supposed to be about 15 degrees cooler.
I have continued to watch with interest our General Conference in Orlando. Sounds like there was some pretty spirited discussion regarding membership. In the long run, here’s how the new membership looks.
Community members will now be able to vote on all local issues except for voting on bringing in Covenant Members. Community members will still not be able to hold office or serve on the board, or anything else that requires one to be a Covenant Member. Also, Community Membership will continue to be non-transferable. This means a Community Member cannot transfer from one church to another like Covenant Members. Churches are not required to have a Community Member category.
