This morning I thought I would get an early start on getting the grass cut. Somehow, it’s been over a week and the District Superintendent is coming today. As I started cutting the grass, I saw Pam leave in the van to get groceries for the week. I finished up with the hand mower and moved over to the tractor. Someone built a nice outbuilding so we don’t store the maintenance equipment in the garage anymore. (If we did there wouldn’t have been a problem, because Pam would have left the garage door open. I didn’t realize this until I was done cutting the grass. I checked the doors and lo and behold they were all locked! Now what was I going to do. Some of the flower beds needed to be weeded so I took the flower beds to task.[Edit -- I did have one surprise while weeding the front flower bed. I was moving some dirt around and all of a sudden, I felt something slimy. I had found a toad hanging out in our flower bed. I think I was more surprised than he was, because he just sat there and ignored me. So I continued weeding and ignored him as well.] After all that was done they still weren’t back so I sat on the back step and relaxed. For one it’s a beautiful day here on the Southside of Virginia. It doesn’t get much nicer — blue skies and low humidity with temps in the high 70′s right now. Sitting on the back step was a great exercise in slowing down. It wasn’t long before I heard the birds singing, the roosters crowing, and the breeze flowing through the trees. I was exactly what I needed. No computer, no phone, no television, no people, just God’s creation.
In addition to that, I’ve been having a little trouble uploading a video to Google video. Hopefully, I be able to post it later. I like posting a music video on Mondays. It always seems to be good for whatever is ailing me.
