The week Dale went to FLAME was very hard week for me. Like most pastors and their wives, we put a lot of ourselves in to the church and when things don’t go as planned, we take it personal. A few things did not go as planned on the Sunday Dale was away and I did take it personally. Monday, I had an answer to prayer come to our home to help me out. Tuesday got back to normal. I had plans to make cookies and finish a package to go to one of our friends who is deployed. There were some cookies left over. That’s when I decided to take them to the Army recruiters. When I go to the recruiters, I stay 5 minutes if that. Wednesday I made a list of everything I had to do in Martinsville so I would not waste gas. I went to the mall and walked into the Army recruiter’s office. As I went in, one of the soldiers announced, “Here is the cookie lady.” Another joked that I was their best friend. Yea, right it is because I give them cookies. They continued to pick on me. OK, most people would not think it is fun to be picked on by soldiers but I did at this time. When people start teasing you, you know that they are relaxed around you. Before when I went to the recruiters, they were stiff and stressed out but not this time; they were relaxed. The way I see, it is that God is opening a door for Dale and I to do ministry. We do not what kind of ministry yet. We will just have to follow God’s leading.
