Tonight was interesting. We had fourteen students “show-up” tonight. Show up is in quotes because, we pick up all but one or two. Most of the regulars were there — And all our staff was there for a total of 21. While they weren’t particularly disruptive during worship, they weren’t enthusiastic about singing either. After we split up, I had the Middle School class, and you can never tell how that class is going to be. Tonight, they were the least talkative I had ever seen them. It’s almost worse than when they talk all the time. I did present a salvation message, but none of the students seem too interested, but once again a seed was planted.
In other news, we started planning our summer Mosaic program, which usually doesn’t follow the school year program. We have a couple movies planned — “Facing the Giants” and “Flywheel” — and maybe something else if I come up with a good all ages movie. I’m also hoping to get a popcorn maker for those evenings. We have a water night planned (great for those hot summer evenings) and a regular game night. Vacation Bible School will take up another week during the summer and we are taking the first two weeks of July and August off to give everyone a break. Looks like everything is coming together for the summer.
Rebecca was back with us tonight and rode shot-gun for Gayle when she took our students home tonight. Even though things did not go as expected, I believe God is continuing to work in the lives of the students with whom He has entrusted to our care. Carp Diem!
