One of my responsibilities on Wednesday nights is to pick up some of the students in our van. Most of these students are at locations that aren’t on the main route. Last week, I had to pick up two students that were at their home. When I picked up the first girl, she was shocked that I was doing most of my church ministries even though my mother has been so sick. As we were driving, I explained to her that my mother would want me to keep doing these ministries because God never stops taking care of us. In the past year, we have had some members’parents who have died and they stop ministry or they stop coming to church. As I work through this incredibly trying time, I am trying to teach the people that ministry and Kingdom building continues.

Yes, there have been times in this past month when I did need a break. Last week I took one. Our daughter Rebecca taught the high school class for me. I thought it would it would be great for Becca to teach a class and I sat in and helped a little bit. It has been a great help to keep on ministering during this time. Our friend, Mark, blogged about a difficult situation Sunday. I like what he said, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!”
