Today was just a sweet overall day. Outside, we are having some of our coldest weather to date, although nothing like the weather in Wisconsin (Lucky for my friend Mark, he’s even further south than I am at this moment. After a week of southern weather, he gets to go back to Wisconsin.) Several people commented to me that I picked the wrong week to shave my head and I concur. Every day a little more hair comes back.
Pam taught a great lesson during Sunday School and I feel the worship went really well today and I challenged our congregation to tell the story. One of our younger people commented that she really liked the PowerPoint. She even asked my for a copy of the notes! Anna does a great job with PowerPoint (even when dad gets on his rabbit trails.) There was a sweet spirit following the service as many in the congregation hung around to talk. I don’t think they wanted to go back into the cold. The afternoon flew by.
This evening, we did something a little different. We sang some and then prayed and then I shared with those gathered a little bit about music and worship and then I shared from the article I shared on this blog a few days ago. We finished by singing a couple “new” Wesley hymns. Again all in all it was a good day. Carp Diem!
