Tonight’s post is a little earlier than usual. Today was Friend Day at Preston Wesleyan Church. Most of you who have been following this blog know that last week I attended FLAME in South Carolina. What a wonderful week we had basking in God’s presence, enjoying the His creation, serving His people, and fellowshiping with them as well. Like I said yesterday, I do have a couple stories left from FLAME that I will be sharing this week.
Yesterday, I spent almost all day at RadioShack and afterwards we took our children over to Wendy’s to get Jr. Frostys. That was part of the gift we gave those who came Halloween night to Mosaic. We got home and I had to put things in order for this morning’s service. Normally there is much more to do, but since today was Friend Day, it didn’t take long.
We had a great service this morning and had about 10 more than usual. We had a local bluegrass gospel group in this morning and they did a great job. I even had a chance to play along with them on Pass Me Not. After the second verse, I even played a little solo. One in our congregation said, “I knew you could play, but I didn’t know you could pick a guitar like that!” That was quite a compliment. Especially because most don’t know I grew up on country and bluegrass music. If you click on the title to the song, you’ll be able to hear it.
After worship, we had a wonderful meal provided by our ladies at church. You will never go hungry at a Preston fellowship. Because of all this morning’s activites we canceled this evening’s service so that is why this is going up early. I did get a chance to catch up on my sleep this afternoon. I had a two hour nap which is very unusual. What a great day in the Lord. Blessings…Dale
