I realized after I posted my blog yesterday, that some might think I was whining. I probably was a little. After all I try to keep things positive, but if your in the ministry at all you will know there are times that try the best of us and yesterday was one of those days. Today has been a great day of relaxing — and
Fixing our church/parsonage mailbox. Yes, we share a mailbox just like we did at Fort Miller and no that’s not a complaint. “What happened to the mailbox?” you ask. Let’s just say it had a little run in with a ten-year old or a ten-year old ran into it. On Saturday, I got a call from Pam while I was working at RadioShack. Our teens were having a yard sale to raise money for youth camp next year. James was just running around the yard and accidentally ran into the mailbox and over it went. It does appear that it was heavily dry rotted. So today, Pam and I made an excursion to Lowes and picked out a new mailbox for the church. That was much more of an ordeal than I had planned. Who knew there were so many options when it came to mailboxes. We picked out a nice new plastic (Rubbermaid) mailbox. It took a little to put it together, but I managed. I’ve included pictures of the old box and the new box. We
also looked at Christmas decorations —
- Yes, I know it’s not Halloween yet and here in Virginia it has just begun to feel like Autumn. We are still awaiting our first frost. I know my blogging friends Mark, Joy, and Dean have already encountered that. If you like green leaves in autumn, I’ve included a few pictures for you as well.
- Tonight is bowling once again. I had to ask for a ride because Anna is preparing for the Madrigal Dinner at her school, so I need to be at the bowling alley before she gets out of practice. So anyway, I have a ride
and the couple that is taking me is also taking me to Hardee’s for Pastor Appreciation. Hopefully, I’ll get to get my new ball drilled, so that I can use that next week. I’ve been trying to get ahold of the pro shop. I’ll post later with how I made out tonight
- By the way it is a beautifully warm day in the Southside. We had days cooler than this in New York in the summer.
- Have a great day!
