Wow! God is awesome. To put into words what I have experienced over the last 72 hours is just about impossible. As I posted on Thursday, I was chosen to attend an Emmaus Walk this past weekend. You could say that the weekend exceeded my wildest expectations. Why do I say that?
16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Since I was going to be away this evening, I was assisting Pam in helping her prepare to teach tonight. The verse above was part of the passage for this week. I believe that I have caught just a glimpse of what that verse means this past weekend. God has given me a glimpse of the love that He has for humankind. My desire in returning home is to love those around me with the love of Christ — starting with my family, and then the church, and then the community and then beyond. Thank you to the wonderful couple from our church who sponsored me on this weekend. Wow! God is AWESOME!
