Freedom’s Hill Chapel — the first Wesleyan Methodist Church in the South. It was moved from its original location in North Carolina several years ago to the campus of SWU. (This will be the subject of another post next week.)
James plays a game on my cell phone to pass the time between meetings and during meetings.
One of the many tearful moments
James’ stuffed tiger “Stripes” enjoying lunch.
One of the first students who participated in the Passing of the Mantle four years ago.
SWU’s University Singers bring a special number.
The Passing of the Mantle message
A really tearful moment as I give Rebecca her medalion and pray over her passing the mantle on to her.
Even tough guy James couldn’t hold back the tears as sister gets ready to say goodbye.
James recovered to take a picture of us at the fountain right before we part ways. James has quite a few pictures he will be sharing with us next week. I’ll be calling it SWU through the eyes of a 10 year old.
On our way home, we stopped at the famous Abbott Farms along I-85 near the SC/NC border. Here is a water tower painted as a peach. We also picked up some peach salsa, which I’m looking forward to trying.
