Interesting night tonight! Our largest class was the high school and our ordinarily big middle school class was small. We also didn’t pick up many students on the van, but we had a good night. Our high schoolers went to Blue Ridge Nursing Center to visit one of our shut-ins. I didn’t go this week. Pam went with Gayle and taught the lesson. Vicky taught the elementary students and I taught the middle school. I found a Bible Baseball software program today and used that for our time. I don’t know why it surprised me, but our students don’t know the Bible. That will be something that we work on from now on. What was amazing, was the number of questions missed that were related to a sermon from the last few weeks. I’ve been doing a story-type series on the Old Testament — telling the stories of Moses, Deborah, Samson, and others. So we have something else to work on.
I finished our Bible Baseball lesson with 2 Timothy 3:16-17: 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. God’s Word is important for us to study and know about and let it reside in us.
