As a teen and a young adult, one of my favorite bands was Glad. Most everyone knows them for their acapella music. In the late 70′s and early 80′s, I like them for being a band with intricate arrangements and vocals. As they progressed through the 80′s they moved toward pop/acapella music. I’ll never forget the first time I heard what is now known as “Variations on a Hymn.” That a band could do so many styles was very cool. Glad’s original bass player (Don Nalle) was another one of those musical influences as I began to learn that instrument. Enjoy.
