I really can’t say much about bowling tonight except to say that we had some great fellowship tonight. I love when other teams have as much fun as we do. Tonight started off alright as I bowled a 152, then I bowled a 106 and finished with a 136, for an average of 131. We lost 5 points and gained 2, which will keep us near the bottom of the standings. There are about six weeks left to go before the end of the season. I keep hoping my bowling will magically improve, but no, it takes practice.
It’s the same way in our spiritual lives. We want to magically improve, but it takes practice. We call those practices spiritual disciplines. As I have discovered recently there are not only individual disciplines, but corporate disciplines that we practice as a church. As much as I would like to be a transformed bowler, a much higher goal is to become a transformed disciple.
