Today was a good day overall. Pam has been teaching one of our Sunday School classes over the past few weeks. She has been feeling much better and everything is returning to normal around here.
We finished up our series on Love is Always Worth the Risk, by taking a look at Cross-Cultural Evangelism. I began the service with Jeremiah 17:5-8. We sang the song “Wonderful Words of Life” followed by “Majesty,” “Be Exalted, O God,” and “There’s Something About That Name.” After the offering we sang “Send the Light” and then I preached the message. Before we left we participated in communion singing, “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,” took communion and said the Lord’s Prayer.
This evening we began a two part look on the spiritual discipline of corporate prayer. It was an interesting part one. We finished by taking a look at the Lord’s Prayer; how that it is a corporate prayer, not meant to be said privately. “There’s No I In Church” is showing us the importance of community. I finished part one by singing “The Lord’s Prayer,” and then we said it together. I suggest checking out this book.
On a different note, my Father-in-Law suggested I update the pictures on our church website. I was having a little trouble earlier, so I do plan on putting new pictures there. Feel free to check them out. Have a great week and God bless.
