Christmas brought several new CDs into our home. I received Chris Tomlin’s See the Morning as a gift. We are using a few of Tomlin’s songs in our worship; How Great is our God, and Forever are two that come to mind. This CD starts off with How Can I Keep from Singing. In his usual style Chris takes classic lyrics and combines them into a modern praise anthem. Another cut I love is Made to Worship. This has been getting quite a bit of airplay and I enjoy it. I love Brenton Brown’s Everlasting God, a paraphrase of Isaiah 40. One of the highlights of this CD is Uncreated One. Chris has written a wonderful new hymn and I look forward to using this one in church. If you are familiar with Tomlin and Redman’s The Wonderful Cross, you will love what he has done with Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone.) He leaves the melody intact and adds a chorus and revives the original last verse. I have enjoyed this CD while riding around in our van the past two weeks.
