It has been amazing to see how God is working in my life lately. Frankly, I’m a bit humbled by all of it.
God placed in my heart to preach a series called Lifesong Lessons. The series is based around songs from the Casting Crowns’ CD Lifesong. By the way, I recommend it highly. The songs are all based on real life ministry by pastors in the local church. I’ve have watched in amazement, week after week, as the sermon has touched exactly what needed to be said on that morning. Many times the sermon was a reinforcement of the adult Sunday School lesson. Our Middle School Sunday School teacher, commented on one saying, we had just touched on that in class that morning. It is amazing to see God work in this way.
This past week, while at FLAME, I was again humbled to be used by God. If you’ve seen some of the comments, you will see that our worship at FLAME was awesome. I have never experienced that on a day to day basis in a long time. Monday morning, Wayne played a video clip from “Facing the Giants.” It’s a story about giving our all. Each morning I led the team in worship giving my all. After worship, we would meet in small prayer groups for about 10 minutes to pray for the day ahead. I had the wonderful opportunity to pray with and for the professors. Each day after we finished, I would take about a 20 to 30 minute break to recover. Wayne reminded me each day, “God wants your very best.” God rewarded the team for doing that.
About Thursday afternoon, one of the women students approached me and thanked me for the wonderful worship times. She told me that our worship times matched what she had been reading each morning. That was powerful stuff. It was an amazing week. What happened there is my prayer each day — God let me be used by you today.
