One of my favorite times of the year is fall. I love to watch how God paints the colors of the leaves. It’s still hard to get used to the main show not starting until mid-October. The leaves have finally started changing colors. Many trees are still green. We have a maple out back that has green leaves with red tips and it is gorgeous. We have also been priviledge to some wonderful sunrises of late. I keep forgetting to take my camera out with me to the bus stop. God paints with many colors and different canvases (trees and leaves, sky and clouds, sun and moon.) Last night during the closing of our Summit Week, we had a special emphasis for student ministries. My father-in-law otherwise known as Country Rev and Friends was our evangelist for the week.Last night, we used several songs that we used during our regular student ministries time on Wednesday nights and put them together with a hymn. We used the Chris Tomlin song “How Great is Our God” and then paired it with “How Great Thou Art.” I know that it isn’t original with me. I’ve heard it done before. God’s truth is timeless. I’m reminded of that each year with the change of seasons. Since we’ve moved to Martinsville, spring has become my favorite season because of the explosion of color. When I look at all God has created, I really begin to understand the words of the songs we sang last night. We were created by a great God. And yet, he cared for us enough to send His son to die for us, even when we were in our sins. God cares for you and he shows us that through the world He has created.
I thought I’d leave you with some pictures that I took right around the church and our house of the leaf painting that God is doing.
