Tonight we had a concert of prayer at Preston Wesleyan Church. I have always enjoyed these events in the past. Sometimes, we have had concerts of prayer that were just our church and sometimes we joined with other believers, across denominational lines and had a concert of prayer. While we lived in New York, we had an interdenominational concert of prayer. It was a diverse group. We had a Presbyterian Church, two Baptist Churches, a Reformed Church, and our Wesleyan Church. We met every other month and had started meeting every month before God called us to Martinsville. It was cool to see the body of Christ come together over denominational lines for the purpose of prayer. I always left these meeting in much better shape than when I came. Tonight, we started this tradition here. I wish I could say that several other churches showed up, but nobody did. We are going to continue to invite them. My prayer is that the body of Christ in Martinsville can come together to reach our community for Christ. I believe that it’s possible!
