I know this appears a few days late, but I’m getting caught up in my thoughts. This past week as part of all the vacation activities we got together with my wife’s family for a “Christmas in July” picnic on July 4th. As the family grows bigger, (I’m beginning to lose count of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and the fact that we have several pastors now in the family. We have 3 pastors in the Evangelical Congregational Church, one in the Brethren in Christ Church and one Wesleyan, not including the fact that most everyone else is involved in their local churches. You can see why it’s getting more difficult for the family to get together at Christmas. We had a great time together.
I have taken some time this week to reflect back on the freedom that was given to us by those who founded this country. We have some wonderful freedoms in our country today, thanks to those who paid dearly for separating from England.
